Tony is finally ready for adoption as we have his pemphigus, an auto-immune disease affecting his skin under control. This will need to be managed for the rest of his life. Tony is in need of someone that will take very close watch of signs of issues returning and adjust his meds accordingly, along with having a great vet to rely on! Tony has a great temperament! Tony would does good with other dogs and kids and hasn’t met a cat yet, but would likely be fine. He is fully house and crate trained. He is a laid-back good boy!

Tony turned 4 in October. He came into FEBR with skin and ear issues along with an ulcer in his left eye. He has been on medications now for about 2 weeks and his issues are slowly improving. As he feels better he is coming out of his shell a bit and getting more comfortable around his foster home. He does not show much interest in interacting with the other dogs and is pretty laid back guy.
UPDATE 10/7: Tony is still dealing with serious skin issues. He saw a dermatologist today and we are hoping for some answers after a biopsy.
Update 10/12: Tony’s biopsy came back and we have confirmed he has pemphigus. This is an auto-immune skin disease that requires a special treatment plan and care for life. We will treat his pemphigus and hopefully get him into remission soon. Due to this issue Tony will be a special needs adoption.
UPDATE 1/7: Tony had 1 eye removed, but we hope we are able to save his other eye. His skin is looking much better though! Once we determine how his eyes are doing he may be ready to find a home. He gets along with other dogs, he hasn’t met a cat yet, but we’re pretty sure he’d be fine. Crate trained, walks well on leash, and loves attention. Doesn’t like bathes.
