English Bulldogs

If you are interested in adopting an English Bulldog from
English Bulldog Rescue, please take a few moments
and read through the following instructions.
===================================

If you are truly committed to adopting a rescued English Bulldog in 2013, you need to first submit a completed application.  Completed means ALL blanks are filled in, lease agreements (if applicable) are attached, phone numbers double-checked and your writing is legible.  You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application and that it will now go through our "Approval Process".

The Approval Process includes our volunteers contacting your references as well as doing a home inspection.  Our volunteers make every effort to do this in a timely fashion as possible.  If you are approved, you will be notified and then your application is placed on our "Waiting List".

Depending upon which available rescued Bulldog will be the best match for you, the Waiting List part of the process can take up to 2 months...or longer in some cases.  Please bear in mind our priority is ensuring these bulldogs are placed in the best possible forever homes.   Also, just because a potential adopter has been on the Waiting List the longest, doesn't guarantee the next available bulldog is for him/her.  (ie., if we have a young bulldog that doesn't like children....and you have children, we're not going to consider this bulldog for the match.)  Likewise, if you are contacted about a potential bulldog, you are NOT committed to adopting it unless FEBR and you agree to the match.

Again, we recommend that if you are committed to adopting a bulldog in 2013 (even if you don't see one currently on our website that catches your heart), to please submit your application and get placed on the Waiting List.

We also understand that circumstances may change for you during the Waiting period.  You may always send us an email to withdraw your application or to place it "on hold".

So, if you're ready to start the process, continue reading on!

===========================================

1: Start by filling out an Adoption Application by clicking here:

                                  Adoption Application

2: You will need to print this form and  MAIL  it back to us with the required documentation.

Mailing address is
                                                 FEBR
                                         P.O. BOX 754
                                       Odessa, FL. 33556.

A non refundable processing fee of $20 is  required .

Special Notes:
** Be sure your application is complete. Fill in all blanks and include details and explanations where necessary in your answers. If any line on the application is left blank, your application will NOT be processed.
** If you need to provide documentation (lease agreement etc) be sure it is attached.  Your application will Not be processed if not included.
** Check all phone numbers for accuracy. We DO call your vet references and an illegible number can result in an application falling to the bottom of the stack.
** Lack of verifiable heartworm preventative for your past or present dogs is grounds for automatic rejection. If your vet can not provide the verification please attach your receipts/verification to the application. We are looking to see that your dogs have consistently been on heartworm preventative.
** Take the time to come to come to our events. Meeting you in person helps us put a face with a name and application and that will naturally help keep your application at the forefront of our minds.
**  Remain open minded and patient as we are striving to find the very best match for our beloved bullies and the special people who are looking to adopt them.

3:  You will be contacted via email that FEBR has received your application and it is now going through the Approval Process.

We do require home inspections and will check your vet reference.

We make every attempt to be timely with this approval process.  However, keep in mind we are volunteers.
We want this to be a life-long match and are trying our best to do a full evaluation, so we ask that you please be patient.

4.  Once your application has been approved, FEBR will contact you when there is an available bulldog that matches your criteria.   This is the Waiting List period and it can take up to 2 months...and sometimes longer...to find the right match for you.

5:  We do not ship our animals out of state. You must be able to pick up in the Tampa, Florida area.

6:  There will be an adoption donation required.

FEBR may receive dozens of applications on a given dog -- especially puppies and the younger bulldogs.  We cannot possibly contact each and  every one  of you.  We encourage you to attend one of our events to meet our volunteers and some of our bulldogs.  However, we do NOT do same day adoptions unless you are pre-approved by FEBR.     FEBR  is run  STRICTLY  on a volunteer basis, so please be patient. We keep all applications on file.  Our priority is finding the best and right match for each bulldog.  Many times bulldogs come into our foster care and we don't always have the time to get them immediately up on the website or posted on Facebook.  Additionally, we are often aware of other available bulldogs that may be a match for what would work best for you.  Again, be as thorough in your application so that we may help you find the right English Bulldog

Please Help Baby Camo

Baby Camo is only 8 weeks old. Click Here to help him! And read all about him.

Desmond

Desmond is just over a year old and will need work with his manners. He is still very puppy like! He does get along with other dogs. Desmond would benefit from a training class :-)  Applications are being accepted now for adoption.

Delilah - on medical hold

Delilah is a happy bouncy bully who loves her brother Joe. She can be a little testy around other females but we hope after she is spayed she will do better around them She also has double cherry eye and will be having surgery to correct them in the near future. We are accepting application on her but she will not be ready for adoption for about a month (end of April). She is a sweet girl about 4-5 years old. Please consider donating to her upcoming surgeries.

Morti
Morti was saved from a shelter just in time. He has been neglected and will be on medical hold for a while. His skin is badly infected along with lots of yeast. His ears have been left untreated for quite some time as they are pretty much closed up. If we can not get them to open up he will need ear canal ablation surgery soon. Please help Morti with his medical bills as FEBR gets him back into shape.
Jaxon
Older Bulldogs are a great addition to anyone's home! They have so much love to give and hardly need any training. Jaxon is one of those bullys. He about 7 years old and loves to play for about 5 minutes and the it is nap time. He is social with other dogs and will make a great companion for you. Won't you open your heart up to this sweet guy? He deserves a loving family of his own.
Cori
Cori is a beautiful 3 year old Black and White bulldog. She is pretty social but was turned in to rescue because she is heartworm positive. Cori will be having her spay soon along with entropion surgery for her eye lids and then treatment for heartworms. It wont be long before Cori is released from her medical care and ready for adoption. Please consider donating to her medical care.
Mongo
 Medical Hold

Mongo just came into rescue and has major eye issues. Both of his eyes are ulcerated and he can not see out of them We will be taking to him to a specialist to see if we can save his eyes and maybe some vision. Mongo looks to be only about 2 years old. This has got to be very painful for him and we hope we can help  this  sweet baby out. Please help Mongo by donating to his care.
Updates to come.

Piggy and Bruno
Look at this sweet couple!
Piggy and Bruno are looking for a new home and hope they can stay together. Bruno is a top dog while Piggy likes to follow him around. These 2 are well behaved and would make a great addition to your home.   Piggy will be spayed soon and Bruno has a cherry eye that will be fixed but we are taking applications now for them. Bruno should probably be the only make dog in your home.

Lanie

What a cutie! This little girl is ready to start a new life after being used for breeding and then tossed aside. She is 3 years old, white and a brown patch on her eye and very sweet. Applications are being accepted for Lanie now.

Gypsy
 Medical Hold

Gypsy is another case of pure neglect. Left in the care of "friends" when the owner could not care for her, Gypsy was put outside and not fed. They did not give her flea prevention or vet care that she needed for her skin, ears and eyes. She also has a very bad bladder infection.  Gypsy is now safe at FEBR, getting fed lots of good food, getting medicated baths and will make a good recovery. We can not wait to see her after pics! Please help Gypsy with her medical care.

Snuffy
There is just no way you can resist some Snuffy Lovin! This sweet senior will warm you heart. Laid back but still a bit playful, Mr Snuff wants a retirement home. Pulled from a high kill shelter, this old mans fate was not good if left in the shelter. FEBR pulled him out and he is looking for a home with no stairs as his back legs do not work as well as they use to. Please give Snuff a chance, you will be happy you did :-)

Dunkin

Recently our hearts were a bit upset for our boy, Dunkin.  He got a bath, had his nails trimmed and was looking quite fine in preparation to meet a possible adopter.  Sadly enough the connection just didn't happen despite his special preparations and excellent manners.  Once again, Dunkin is without a forever home.  He is red and white, 4 year old male who -- like some other males you may know -- prefers to snooze and snore on the couch.  A home without children and other pets that would disturb nap time would be best for Dunkin.  If you think Dunkin could find a comfortable spot at the end of your couch, please let us know and we will arrange a meeting since attending events that upset the napping schedule tend to stress him out.  Truly a sweet boy who deserves a real forever home.  Take a look at your couch and see if there may be room for Dunkin on it.  His heart and FEBR's would be so appreciative.

(For more background on Dunkin, please read the Craigstlist story at the end of  the Adoptable listings.)

APPLICATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED FOR DUNKIN.

Luckily FEBR saw Dunkin on Craigslist just in the nick of time.

Being sold to the first person with $200.  Why is this an issue? Dunkin was not theirs to sell! You see, Dunkin came to FEBR 2 years ago as a mangy, cherry-eyed, goofy pup. FEBR treated him and thought he was adopted to a wonderful guy who had applied to adopt. He went through all of our background checks, passed our tests and took home a beautiful boy bully.
Little did FEBR know...this "wonderful" guy was nothing more than a LIAR.
A few weeks ago, Dunkin was found on Craigslist for sale by the FEBR team. After a little undercover work , we soon learned that Dunkin was not with his adopter. He was fraudulently adopted and given to a lady who was DENIED to adopt. Why was she denied? She had stated that she lost her other bulldog by her careless unsupervised children who let him drown in their pool. FEBR would not adopt to her. So she had her friend adopt for her.
Phones calls to micro-chip companies, police and animal control were immediately placed and a plan was set. FEBR was going on a road trip....
2.5 hours away to once again, RESCUE Dunkin.
This "wonderful" lady was shocked to find the police at her door with FEBR's team of  Thelma and Louise demanding Dunkin back. She may have beat the system for 2 years, but you know what they say....Karma will get ya in the end!
To FEBR's shock, this little 48 lbs bully that left us 2 years ago was brought to the door, barely able to walk. He had gained so much weight, he could not even breathe.  Weighing in at about 70lbs., we got him back in time. We are lucky he is here with us and not at the bottom of her pool.

Adopters...please be honest with us. We love our bulldogs and want the very best for them.
We don't want them sold or traded on Craiglist.
